Our Littles Room caters for between 12 and 16 children per day.

At this age, children are offered free play, pre-arranged activities to include all seven areas of the curriculum, and twice daily Fit ‘N’ Fun sessions to promote physical development (which they adore!).

Weekly planning is devised by the room supervisor. The day’s activities are adapted to meet the needs of younger children and particular attention is paid to enhancing your child’s social skills.

Daily activities include:

  • Art
  • Music
  • Free play
  • Cooking
  • Storytime
  • Emergent Writing and Number Skills

The children enjoy some quiet time after lunch to rest and recharge their batteries in readiness for the afternoon session – some like to take a nap during this period and we work with parents in the transition between napping and being awake all day.

Children’s artwork will be displayed within the nursery, so you and other parents can admire our budding artists.

We work with you when potty training to maintain a consistent approach that makes the experience fun for little ones. Our staff can offer advice and support in this area, or you can download our Potty Training factsheet for useful tips and tricks.

All activities within the nursery meet the seven areas of learning outlined in the Department for Education’s Early Years Foundation Stage.
