Our Under 2s Room caters for up to 21 children per day, where babies are cared for in a home-from-home environment. Practitioners in this room provide a secure and familiar setting for playing, learning, trying new things and growing.
Our area of care and activity is made up of a childcare room, sensory room, soft play area, Inspiration Room, outside areas. Attached is a sleep room, which is quiet, comfortable and allows for close monitoring, where little ones can recharge their batteries surrounded by soothing lighting and music.
All our Practitioners are trained in pediatric first aid and the five to thrive concept with all planning being child and adult led.
With parental consent, we sometimes take our children out for a walk or in their buggies, to give them fresh air and the opportunity to take in different surroundings. This is always a hit with the little ones who love seeing the trees, birds and gardens around the nursery or visiting our local beaches and environment.
All activities for our under twos meet the three areas of learning outlined in the Department for Education’s Early Years Foundation Stage and is overseen by our Day Care Manager, Early Years Teacher and led by our Room Leader. Your child’s progress is uploaded to our on-line journal from which you can view and add in your own observations. Each child’s journal is securely set up and only accessible by our Practitioners and yourselves via a password system.
Daily diaries are completed throughout the day to keep you informed of all aspects of your child’s day, recording all activities undertaken, times and length of sleep and meals eaten.
We ask parents to provide a few photographs of pets, relatives or friends, to make family books and used during discussions between your child and their Key Person. This assists with the child’s Self Confidence, Self Awareness and speech development and helps them settle into the nursery and feel comfortable with staff.
You can relax when you bring your child to Fit 'N' Fun Nurseries, comfortable in the knowledge that they will be safe, stimulated, nurtured, educated, supported and encouraged.
